Lion Robert Taylor is married to Lion Norma who is also very active. They have 2
daughters, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He retired from Philip
Morris as a maintenance supervisor in 1992. He served in the Armed Forces, with
11th Airborne as a private first class, and the Virginia National Guard in Troop C
183 Armored Calvary Unit as a first pageant, before retiring after 30 years. He is a
member of the Light Infantry Blues Veteran's Corp, the American Legion Post 175,
and the 11th Airborne Division Association.
Lion Robert Taylor has maintained perfect attendance in the Lions Club since his
becoming a member in December 1995. His lions service is extensive, including
Treasurer, 1-2-3 Vice President, President, Past President, Director, and Sargent
at Arms for the District. He has chaired and assisted on numerous committees
including scholarship, finance, and bylaws. He has received several awards
including the only member who currently holds a Progressive Melvin Jones
Fellowship and a Lions of Virginia Humanitarian Award.
