Calendar Year Lions
Clubs elect Board of
Directors
who swear to uphold their
office to the best of their
ability for one year. These
officers begin on July 1 of
one year and conclude
their duties on June 30 of
the next year.
Female Lions: During the
1987 International
Association of Lions Clubs
Convention, women were
voted into Lionism and
given the same rights as
their male Lions to be
under one name, banner,
emblem, and constitution.
Since that time, many
Lions Clubs are now
unisex. There are no
Lioness in a Lions Club
but there still are a few
Lioness Clubs.
